MCL drills Alas Tua Timur well

Mobil Cepu Limited (MCL), a subsidiary of ExxonMobil Indonesia, has started drilling works at the Alas Tua Timur exploration well in its Cepu giant oil and gas block at the border of Central and East Java.
The drilling activity, according to a statement from the upstream autorithy BPMIGAS, will last until the end of March and aims to find out reserve potentials at the well.
The Alas Tua Timur well is one of three exploration wells the company had planned to drill in the near future. The other two wells are Alas Tua and Kedung Keris wells.
At present, Cepu block is producing 18,000 barrels of oil per day out of installed capacity of 20,000 BPD for the first phase.
