Medco appoints U.S. subsidiary president

Publicly listed oil and gas firm PT Medco Energi Internasional Tbk has appointed Dave Gibbs as the new president of its wholly owned subsidiary Medco Energi US LLC (formerly Novus Louisiana), Rigzone.com reported Wednesday.

Medco Energi US is engaged in the exploration, development, acquisition, and production of oil and natural gas reserves in the Gulf of Mexico. The company is headquartered in Lafayette, Louisiana, with an exploration/business development office in Houston, Texas.

Medco also appointed Mark Oliver as vice-president for land and legal affairs, Jackie Colwell as exploitation manager, and John Young as new ventures manager.

Medco acquired Novus Louisiana in July 2004 in connection with the acquisition of Australian oil and gas firm Novus Petroleum. The acquisition include interests in the East Cameron/Main Pass Gulf of Mexico fields, offshore Louisiana, the Sorrento Dome field, onshore Louisiana, the Stratton field, onshore Texas, and the Coastal Bend field, Texas onshore and coastal waters.
