Medco begins construction of gas facility in Block A

IDX-listed integrated energy company PT Medco Energi Internasional Tbk through its subsidiary PT Medco E&P and partners KrisEnegy and JAPEX begins today construction of a gas production facility at Block A in East Aceh Regency, Aceh Province.
A ground-breaking ceremony was held on Monday attended among others officials of the companies, Aceh Governor Zaini Abdullah and Head up upstream oil and gas authority SKK Migas, Amien Sunaryadi.
President Director of Medco, Lukman Mahfoedz said that construction of the facility is expected to be completed in 2017.
A consortium comprising of PT Encona Inti Industri and PT JGC Indonesia has been appointed as the EPC contractor for the construction of the gas production facility.
Amien said that the first gas is expected to come on stream in 2018 at a volume of 63 bbtud, which will be distributed for industries in Aceh and North Sumatra via the Pertamina Arun-Belawan pipeline.
During the ground-breaking ceremony, Medco also officiated the operation of a hospital called Dr. Zubir Mahmud General Hospital as part of the company?s community development programs.
