Medco books $72.6 million in net profit in Jan-Sept period of 2002

Publicly listed oil producer PT Medco Energi International Tbk booked net profit of US$72.6 million in the January-September period of 2002, which was up from $53.3 million in the same period of last year, the company said on Thursday.
Medco?s net revenues amounted to $312.3 million in the nine-month period of 2002, compared with $288.3 million in the same period of 2001, its financial director Sugiharto said in a public expose meeting.
Medco produced 87.9 million barrels per day (MBPD) of oil from January to September of 2002, compared with 79.9 MBPD in the same period of last year.
Medco, which is listed on the Jakarta Stock Exchange, currently has interests in 18 oil blocks in different parts of Indonesia. (leo)
