Medco buys back bonds worth of Rp 158b

Publicly listed oil and gas company PT Medco Energi Internasional Tbk (MEDC) has bought its I/2004 bonds for Rp 158 billion, the Investor Daily Indonesia newspaper reported in its Thursday edition.

Medco's director of finance Darmoyo Doyoatmojo said the buyback was done in three phases. The first one was done on July 5, 2005 with an amount of Rp 30 billion.

The second and the third with Rp 10 billion and Rp 118 billion buyback transactions were done on September 7 and September 9 respectively,

According to him, these bonds will be kept by the firm and will be sold again in the market when necessery.(*)
