Medco, Cityview to commence E. Java drilling by mid-september

Australian listed oil and gas firm CityView Corporation Limited said Wednesday that its joint venture partner PT Medco Energi Corporation TBKhad confirmed that the first of five shipments of rig equipment has arrived at Madura Island, East Java..

Medco estimated that deployment of all rig equipment from Sumatra to Madura should be completed within the next two weeks. The drilling of Sebaya-1 exploratory well in Madura exploration block was expected to commence by mid-September.

Earlier, Medco and Cityview estimated that it would be able to start drilling Sebaya-1 well last July.

Medco is the operator of Madura exploration block, while Cityview, whose largest shareholder is Malaysia Mining Corporation Berhad, has 25 percent working interst in the block. (alex)
