Medco conducting 2D & 3D seismic surveys in SCS block

PT Medco EP Indonesia (MEPI) has been conducting the 2D and 3D land seismic acquisitions within the South & Central Sumatra block, South Sumatra, said an official at MEPI.
MEPI?s Corporate Secretary Imron Gazali told Petromindo.com on Monday that the 2D seismic acquisitions are being carried out in four districts, namely Musi Rawas, Musi Banyuasin, Muara Enim and Lahat, with a total length of 547,2 km.
Imron said the survey coverage areas are divided into four, namely Noga, Rambutan, Wahalo, and Lakitan.
Meanwhile, the 3D land seismic acquisitions are being carried out in the district of Musi Rawas, covering110 sq km.
Both surveys are performed by PT Elnusa Tbk, he said, adding topographic survey has also been started.
The SCS block was originally awarded to PT Stanvac Indonesia. Medco took over Stanvac?s 100 percent interest in the block on Dec. 22, 1995.
