Medco drills dry hole in S. Sumatra

IDX-listed energy firm PT Medco Energi Internasional Tbk reported on Tuesday that it had drilled dry hole in Makmur-1 well in South & Central Sumatra Block PSC onshore South Sumatra.
The company said the Makmur-1 well which was spudded on November 16, 2009 reached the total depth of 4,468 feet.
?However, no result showed from the well and the company plans to discontinue the activity. Hence, the well is plugged and abandoned,? the company said.
Meanwhile, the company also reported that it has drilled Kalisa-1 exploration well in Rimau PSC, also located onshore South Sumatra.
Until the end of December 2009, the company has drilled the well to the depth of 2,680 feet.
The company plans to conduct test on the interval of 2,022-2,036 feet on Telisa formation. (denny)
