Pujo said Medco E&P expected to start the drilling program in January 2006.

In July, parent company PT Medco Energi Internasional signed an agreement with U.S. oil firm Anadarko Petroleum Corporation to jointly explore 13 blocks over areas totaling 7.8 million acres onshore and offshore Sumatra, Kalimantan, Sulawesi, Java and Papua.

Anadarko has committed to spend $80 million for the exploration activities over a period of three years. (godang)
