Medco E&P to drill 7 exploration wells this year

PT Medco E&P, an upstream unit of Indonesia-listed energy firm PT Medco Energi Internasional Tbk will drill seven exploration wells and one delineation well in this year, a company senior official told Petromindo.com last week.
Medco E&P?s president director Budi Basuki said that the wells, which will be drilled starting mid of this year including Matang well in Block A, Aceh with total depth (TD) of14,000 feet, Tala and Taba wells in Rimau block onshore South Sumatra with TD of 1,000 feet, and Solo well in Merangin block, onshore Jambi with TD of 7,000 feet.
Other wells are Lagan and North Temelat wells in SSE block, onshore South Sumatra and South Sebuku-2 delineation well in Bengara I block, East Kalimantan, he said.
Total investment is around US$47 million, he added without giving further details. (bernard)
