Indonesia emerging coal producer company, PT Medco Energi Mining Internasional is expecting to produce about 660,000 tons of coal from its two concessions in Nunukan, East Kalimantan.
"We have a long contract for 330,000 tons to China this year," Arie Prabowo Ariotedjo, Managing Director of Medco Energi Mining told Petromindo.com on the sidelines of the 11th Coaltrans China in Beijing.
"We are still seeking more coal concessions to be acquired," he said, adding that the company's two concession in Nunukan has about 7 millions reserves of 6,500 GAR.
The company which is a subsidary of Medco Energi Internasional Tbk had its maiden production in 2012. They targeted to produce 500,000 ton in 2012 but only realized 135,000 tons production due to the bearish coal market.
