PT Medco Power Indonesia (MPI) hopes to be able to sign power purchase agreement (PPA) with state-owned electricity firm PT PLN for its planned 250 MW PLTGU Tenayan combined-cycle power plant in Riau Province, in the first quarter of this year.

"Our target is in the first quarter of this year (to sign the PPA)," Ibnu Nurzaman, Head of Corporate Counsel of MPI, a subsidiary of IDX-listed energy firm PT Medco Energi Internasional Tbk.

MPI is setting up a consortium with Thailand's Ratchaburi Electricity Generating Holding Pcl to develop the project, with estimated investment of US$350 million.
