Medco finalizing environmental permit and production licenses for DTSA

Indonesia coal mining company, PT Duta Tambang Sumber Alam (DTSA), a subsidiary of PT Medco Energi Mining International is finalizing the environment permit for its coal mine concession located at Simenggaris, Nunukan Regency, East Kalimantan.

Ari Prabowo Ariotedjo, Managing Director Medco Energi Mining told Petromindo on Thursday that the company is expecting to complete all the licenses for production by this year.

"After securing environmental permit, we target to get the IUP production license in two months followed by proposing Pinjam Pakai forest permit (borrow and use forest permit) from Forestry," he said adding that the production at DTSA is expected to commence by next year.

Ari, however did not disclose the production targetof DTSA. Meanwhile, another Medco's subsidiary, PT Duta Tambang Rekayasa, located in Nunukan as well, according to Ari has a stable production at the level of over 50,000 tons per month.
