Indonesia-listed energy firm PT Medco Energi Internasional Tbk found "hydrocarbon indication" at its Langkap Deep-1 exploration well in Rimau PSC onshore South Sumatra during the recent drilling.
The well, which was spudded on May 7, 2010, had been drilled to the measured depth of 3,905 of the planned total depth of 3,900 feet by the end of May. ?The company plans to test hydrocarbon potential in the well,? Medco said in monthly exploration report, released on Tuesday.
Medco did not give further details.
Earlier, Medco drilled Raut-1 and Kalisa-1 exploration wells, also in Rimau block, but both wells had been plugged and abandoned after the company failed to find positive results.
Medco has a 95 percent stake in the block. (denny)
