IDX-listed oil, gas firm Medco Energi Internasional Tbk shut down production from its Camar field in Bawean PSC offshore East Java after bad weather hampered repair operations on the field, a BPMIGAS official said.
BPMIGAS Deputy Chairman in charge of operations Dodi Hidayat told Petromindo.Com that Camar field was shut down since January 8, 2008 after Medco failed to replace hose in production facility.
Dodi said the field was producing 1,500 BPD.
Medco has 65 percent in the block while Kuwait energy firm KSCC controls the remaining balance.
Java sea had been hit by high waves since January, causing disturbance to several offshore oil, gas operations along Java island. Weather agency predicted that the storm would start to subside late this week.(godang)
