Medco has drilled three wells at Rimau block

IDX-listed oil and gas company PT Medco Energi Internasional Tbk has drilled three exploration wells ? Taba 1, Taba-2 and Rumbi-2 -- at Rimau PSC, onshore South Sumatera, Rudi Rubiandini, Deputy Chairman of the upstream oil and gas regulator BPMIGAS, said.

He said the company has yet to report the oil flow discovery based on the drilling results.

He noted that usually drilling reports are submitted after financial assessment is completed to determine whether a well is viable for exploitation or not.

Rudi Rubiandini said the company is also planning to drill two additional exploration wells ? Tala-2 and Tajak-1 this month. Once these wells are drilled, the company would drill Tala-1 and Tala-3 well, using the same rig.

Medco has 95 percent stake in Rimau block. (godang)
