Medco in tough talks with Chiyoda

Medco EP Indonesia, the subsidiary of PT Medco Energi Internasional, is negotiating with Japanese firm Chiyoda on the value of EPC contract for Block A in the East Aceh regency, Aceh.

?The negotiation on the value of the project is ongoing and it is tough,? a source told Petromindo.com, adding that while the negotiation was in progress, the firm had decided to choose the Japanese firm to carry out the EPC project.

The Block A is owned by Medco (operator) in partnership with Premier Oil and Japex.

Separately, General Affairs Deputy of upstream authority BPMIGAS Gerhard Rumeser said he has yet to be informed that Chiyoda has been selected as the winner of the EPC contract.

?I?m sorry. I have yet to get the information,? Gerhard said.
