Medco makes oil find onshore South Sumatra

Indonesia-listed energy firm PT Medco Energi International Tbk reported Thursday that it has made oil find in its recent drilling operation at Rumbi-2 exploration well in Rimau PSC, onshore South Sumatra.
The company said that the well, which was spudded since July 5, is flowed by oil in average of 279.81 barrel per day with 0.95% water cut through 18/64? choke.
The result came from the interval of 2,499 to 2,505 feet below mean sea level, Medco said, adding that the company is planning to conduct hydrocarbon potential test in the well.
Medco has drilled the well until final total depth of 2,736 feet MD.
At present, the company is also conducting 2D land seismic acquisition in Rimau PSC. (denny)
