Coal miner PT Medco Energi Mining Internasional (MEMI), a subsidiary of IDX-listed PT Medco Energi Internasional Tbk, said that coal output from its only producing asset in the first semester of this year reached 300,000 tons, which is half of the full-year target of 600,000 tons.

"Our target this year is 600,000 tons of coal, the same as last year. In the first semester, our production is about 300,000 tons", said F. Harry Kristiono, Vice President for Corporate Strategic and Commercial Affairs at MEMI on Thursday.

MEMI has two coal subsidiaries, namely PT Duta Tambang Rayasa (DTR) and PT Duta Tambang Sumber Alam (DTSA), both of which operate mines in Nunukan, North Kalimantan, with mining areas of 1,700 hectares and 4,800 hectares, respectively. But only DTR so far has been in production, started in 2012.
