Medco Mining makes maiden coal export to China

Medco Mining, a subsidiary of Indonesia-listed energy concern PT Medco Energi Internasional Tbk, has successfully made its first maiden shipment of 38,000 tons of high rank coal to China.
Medco, which produces the coal in Nunukan, East Kalimantan, hopes to be able to export a total of 150,000 tons of coal with calorific value of 6,200 kcal per kg until end of this year.
?Our first (coal) mining (concession) is in Nunukan, (producing) 38,000 tons. The target until end of this year is to ship out 150,000 tons,? CEO of Medco Energi Internasional Lukman Mahfoedz told Petromindo.com over the weekend.
The company has set China as the market for the high rank coal, he added.
