IDX-listed energy company PT Medco Energi Internasional Tbk said that its indirect coal subsidiary PT Duta Tambang Rekayasa (DTR), which has in recent months resumed production activity at its mine in Nunukan, North Kalimantan Province, is expected to produce around 100,000 tons of coal until end of this year.
?DTR production in 2016 will be 100,000 tons,? said F. Hary Kristiono, Corporate Strategic and Commercial Vice President at PT Medco Mining Internasional (MMI) to Petromindo.com on Monday. MMI, a subsidiary of Medco Energi, owns DTR.
DTR, a subsidiary of PT Medco Mining Internasional, suspended production activity last year due to the weak coal price. The Nunukan mine last year only produced 350,000 tons of coal, out of the target of 600,000 tons.
Elsewhere, Hary said that DTR has obtained a one-year coal sales contract from an Indian firm, and has recently started shipment of coal with calorific value of 6,500 kcal/kg GAR to India. No further details were provided.
