Medco: Panaran combined cycle power plant starts operation

The 30 MW combined cycle power plant in Panaran, Batam, Riau Islands Province, has started commercial operation on September 8, according to a presentation material of IDX-listed PT Medco Energi Internasional Tbk on Tuesday.
Medco Energy through subsidiary PT Medco Power Indonesia owns 64 percent of PT Mitra Energi Batam (MEB), a consortium which developed the Panaran I power plant project.
The electricity from the combined cycle power plant expands the capacity of the entire Panaran I power project to a combined 54.3 MW, after a 3x8.1 MW gas engine power plant started operation in November 2012.
