Medco, partners spud East Java?s Tembuku exploration well

ASX-listed oil explorer CityView Corporation Limited announced on Tuesday that its partner Medco Energi Internasional Tbk. had spudded Tembuku #1 exploration well in Madura exploration block onshore East Java.
CityView said the well, which is programmed to reach the depth of 10,416 feet, was drilled using Apexindo?s 1500 HP Rig 2.
Medco is the operator of Madura exploration block.
CityView also said that Medco is also intended to delay drillings of Bangku Besar and Sesayap wells in Simenggaris exploration block in East Kalimantan until seismic survey has been performed over these fields.
Medco originally planned to spud Bangku Besar exploration well in November 22 this year. CityView said Medco planned to delay Bangku Besar drilling until 2003.
Medco is the operator of Simenggaris exploration block, where CityView has 25 percent free-carried interest.(alex/robert)
