Medco, partners strike gas in E. Kalimantan

IDX-listed energy firm PT Medco Energi Internasional Tbk reported on Wednesday that South Bengara exploration well in Bengara-I PSC, East Kalimantan, has flowed gas and condensate during the first test.

The company reported that the well, which was drilled to the depth of 5,150 feet by the end of July, flowed 3.4MMCFD of gas and 6.6BPD of condensate.

Medco said further tests would be conducted on the well.

Medco is the block?s operator with 35 percent interest. Other partners are Thai oil, gas firm PPTEP (40%) and UK firm Salamander Energy (25%). (alex)
