Medco plans mini-LNG plant in Simenggaris

IDX-listed energy firm PT Medco Energi Internasional Tbk is teaming up with East Kalimantan?s Tana Tidung regency government and undisclosed technology provider to set up a mini-LNG plant in the regency.
CEO Lukman Mahfoedz told Petromindo.Com on Wednesday that the plant will process gas from Simenggaris JOB block operated by Medco.
Lukman said LNG from the plant will be sold to state electricity firm PT PLN (Persero). The LNG plant will be operated separately from the block, he said.
He added that the project is expected to become onstream in 2017.
