Medco, PLN sign PPA for Riau power plant project

Private power company PT Medco Power Indonesia (MPI) and state-owned electricity firm PT PLN have signed a power purchase agreement (PPA) for the planned 275 MW combined-cycle power plant (PLTGU) project in Riau Province.

?Negotiation of the PPA has been completed and is currently waiting for the approval of Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources (Ignasius Jonan),? said MPI President Director Fazil Erwin Alfitri to Petromindo.com on Tuesday.

Fazil added that the gas supply for the power plant project will be the responsibility of PLN, which plans to secure the gas requirement from PT Transgasindo, a subsidiary of IDX-listed gas distribution firm PT PGN Tbk.

MPI, a subsidiary of IDX-listed energy company PT Medco Energi Internasional Tbk, is teaming up with Thailand?s Ratchaburi in the Riau PLTGU project.
