Medco Power plans to build solar power plant in Yogyakarta

PT Medco Power Indonesia (MPI), owned by IDX-listed integrated energy company PT Medco Energi International Tbk, plans to take over a planned solar power plant project in Yogyakarta Province from its parent firm PT Medco Intidinamika.
Fazil E Alfitri, President Director of Medco Power told Petromindo.com recently that Medco Intidinamika has a cooperation agreement with the Provincial Government of Yogyakarta to develop a solar power plant project. The local administration has allocated about 100 hectares of unproductive land in Gunung Kidul for the planned project.
According to Fazil, Medco Power is currently conducting a study for the planned 25 MW solar power plant project.
?We want our portfolio not only comprising of gas, geothermal, and coal fired power plants, but also solar power plant,? he said.
