Medco Power still waiting for contract to secure gas supply for Batam power plant

PT Medco Power Indonesia said it expects the amendment of sale and purchase of gas (GSA) contract from Gajah Baru field between its unit PT Universal Batam Energi (UBE), the field's operator Premier Oil and PT PLN Batam to be signed early next year.

"Negotiation on the amendment of GSA 3 dan 4 owned by PLN Batam and UBE is still ongoing. Our target is that the signing could take place in January," said Medco Power President Director Fazil E. Alfitri to Petromindo.com.

The signing will secure Medco Power a gas supply of 20 BBTUD from Gajah Baru for its gas-fired 70 MW power plant in Batam.

"The construction of the power plant itself is on schedule with operation targeted at September 2014," added Fazil.
