Medco Power to operate three hydro power plants next year

PT Medco Power Indonesia has set a target for three mini hydro power plants currently under construction to start commercial operation next year.

The three mini hydro power plants include two units in Cibalapulang, West Jva, and one unit in Simonggo, North Sumatra. ?The three plants are currently under construction,? Chief Business Development Officer of the company, Noor Wahyu Hidayat told Petromindo.com recently, adding that the capacity of the plants range from 8-10 MW.

Medco Power, a subsidiary of IDX-listed PT Medco Energi Internasional, acquired the power plant projects last year. ?We?re more interested in acquiring (on-going) projects so that we could immediately construct, and would no longer have to be think of the PPA and feasibility study,? he said, referring to power purchase agreement.
