PT Medco Power Indonesia, through subsidiary PT Energi Listrik Batam (ELB), has signed an agreement with state owned utility firm PT Perusahaan Listrik Negara (PLN) on the sale of electricity from its planned 2x35 MW gas-fired power plant in Tanjung Uncang, Batam.

The signing took place on the sidelines of 19th Conference of Electric Power Supply Industry (CEPSI) in Nusa Dua.

Under the agreement, ELB as an independent power producer (IPP) will build and operate the power plant and sell the generated electricity to PLN for 20 years. The price has been set at 2.81 US cent per kWh, excluding the gas component price.
