Medco Power wins EPC tender for Batam gas-fired power plant

Indonesia-listed energy firm PT Medco Energi Internasional through subsidiary PT Medco Power Indonesia has won an EPC (engineering, procurement and construction) work worth Rp 179 billion (1US$ = Rp 8,540) for a gas fired power plant project in Batam.
The company has teamed up with Dalle Engineering Construction and Top Deal International Ltd to develop the 3x8.5MW power plant, whose construction is scheduled to start in August 2011 and to be completed in August 2012.
?Medco Energi?s success to win the tender of the gas-fired power plant project in Batam reflects the confidence of PLN Batam in the company?s capability,? said Medco Power President Director Fazil E. Alfitri in a press statement on Tuesday. (godang/giok)
