Medco reports crude oil theft from S. Sumatra blocks

Indonesia-listed energy company PT Medco Energi Internasional Tbk has filed a report with the South Sumatra police a theft case which caused it to lose 3,000 barrels from its South Sumatera Exstension (SSE) and Rimau blocks in the province.
Medco senior manager relation division Aditya Mandala said the theft was believed to have taken place since June. The company found leaks in its pipe connecting Medco EP operational area with a reservoir belonging to the company.
?We are still studying the case and have been unable to reveal the persons behind the theft,? Mandala said on Monday night.
Medco has not yet calculated material losses resulting from the theft. (*)
