Medco?s coal unit in spot supply deal with CCS

East Kalimantan coal miner PT Duta Tambang Rekayasa (DTR), a coal mining unit of PT Medco Energi Mining Internasional, is delivering its high CV coal to China Coal Solution (Singapore) Pte Ltd at US$60 per ton.

The volume is 35,000 tons (?10%) with the spot price based on FOB vessel at Nunukan anchorage, port authority said.

DTR mine has CV of 6800 kcal/kg (ADB) with high total sulphur of 3%.

Medco commenced coal production in its PT Duta Tambang Rekayasa mine in Nunukan, East Kalimantan in February 2012. It also controls another mine in the area, namely PT Duta Tambang Sumber Alam, the total resource of both mines combined is said to reach 16 million tons.
