Medco?s crude tank in Riau explodes, no casualties reported

A crude tank with a capacity of 10,000 barrels in Ukui sub-district, Palalawan regency, Riau province, which leased by energy firm PT Medco Energi Internasional Tbk, exploded Sunday, Tribun Pakanbaru reported.
Upstream oil, gas regulator BPMIGAS? spokesman Elan Biantoro confirmed to Petromindo.com the accident. He said there was no causality in the explosion and the operation and production at the location was unaffected.
The accident was caused by electricity sparkle during a maintenance work at the tank.
The tank is located in the area of Pertamina EP Lirik business unit, which operated by Medco. (godang)
