Medco's DTSA to submit land-use permit

Indonesia emerging coal mining company, PT Medco Energi Mining International is preparing to submit all necessary documents to obtain land-use permit from Ministry of Forestry for its coal unit PT Duta Tambang Sumber Alam (DTSA) concession in Nunukan, North Kalimantan, a company official told Petromindo.Com

DTSA is also processing to increase its mining license to IUP Operation and Production from IUP Exploration, the source said.

The company is expected to start producing coal from the concession in the second semester of 2014. Arie Prabowo Ariotedjo, Managing Director Medco Energi Mining told Petromindo.com that DTSA planned to produce up to 300,000 ton per year.

In 2011, Medco acquired the two coal mines namely DTSA and PT Duta Tambang Rekayasa (DTA). Both mines are adjacent. DTA has started commercial production in 2012 with total output 132,000 tons. DTA is expecting to produce 500,000 tons of coal with CV 6500 kcal/kg (ADB) in this year.
