Medco?s Exspan to allocate $1.45 million for community development in 2003

Oil producer PT Exspan Nusantara, a subsidiary of publicly listed oil company PT Medco Energi International, has planned to allocate US$1.45 million for community development programs in its areas of operation in 2003, company spokesman Aditya Mandala told Petromindo.com on Tuesday.
Benefiting from the programs will be communities near Exspan?s oil fields including Kaji-Semoga in South Sumatra, Lirik (South Sumatra), Tarakan (East Kalimantan), Senoro-Toili (Central Sulawesi), and another field in Papua province. A portion of the $1.45 million will be used for developing the welfare of poor people in the Jakarta City, Aditya said.
Exspan had allocated $1.5 million for its community development programs in 2002, and $1 million in 2001, Aditya said. (godang)
