Medco?s subsidiary plans to expand Batam power plant?s capacity

PT Universal Batam Energy (UBE), subsidiary of PT Medco Power Indonesia, plans to expand the capacity of its power plant in Tanjung Uncang district on Batam Island to 110 MW, an official of the firm said.

At present, the PLTG Tanjung Uncang has two power units each with the capacity of 35 MW. The first unit has come onstream since early this year while the second unit is scheduled to come onstream later this year, Hartono Indriyanto, UBE?s President Director, told Petromindo.com recently.

?We will develop another 40 MW in 20120. So our capacity will become 110 MW,? Hartono said, adding investment for the project is estimated at around US$ 68 Million.
