Medco says drilling at Matang progressing well, finds good quality gas

IDX-listed energy concern PT Medco Energi Internasional Tbk said that drilling work at the Matang well within the Block A PSC in Aceh has successfully entered the Banpo formation target.

The drilling work conducted by subsidiary PT Medco EP Indonesia (MEPI) has shown indication of gas with low CO2 quality. MEPI is currently conducting test to assess the productivity of the gas find.

?In Matang, Thank God, it (drilling) has entered the Banpo formation target, there?s been indication of gas find with quite good quality (low CO2). Test is currently being conducted to assess the productivity of the findings,? Corporate Secretary of PT Medco Energi Internasional Tbk, Imron Ghazali told Petromindo.com Friday. He did not provide further details.
