IDX-listed energy firm PT Medco Energi Internasional Tbk is interested to acquire oil, gas assets offered by US giant Exxon Mobil Corp. for sale in Aceh.

?Yes, Medco is interested and will make up our mind after accessing the data room,? CEO Lukman Mahfoedz told Petromindo.Com on Tuesday. He did not give further detail.

Medco is operating Aceh Block A PSC, which location is adjacent to ExxonMobil?s operations. Block A, which was formerly partly owned by ExxonMobil, will start gas production in 2013-14.

ExxonMobil last week announced its intention to sell its entire interest in Aceh gas blocks where it has been operating for more than 40 years.

Separately, state oil, gas company PT Pertamina (Persero) said it has yet make up its mind. ?Thus far, Pertamina has no plan to bid for ExxonMobil?s assets (which are offered for sale,? Deputy Director Upstream Slamet Riyadi said. (godang)
