Medco says Kerisi well shut-in a normal process

PT Medco E&P Natuna, operator of the South Natuna B block in Riau Islands Province says that shutting in of Kerisi well is a normal process and not related to drilling failure.

?Medco is currently conducting 6 in-fill well drilling campaign in the block and its is a normal process to temporarily shutdown adjacent wells for safety operation reasons. This is a normal practice in oil, gas exploration and production,? Drajad Panjawi, Senior Manager for Relations and Security Medco E&P Natuna said on Tuesday.

Earlier, a source said that the shut-in was made following drilling failure and as the company plans to plug and abandon the well.
