?The EPC tender is in progress and expected to complete within two or three months. Construction will start after the EPC tender has been completed,? Medco?s president commissioner Hilmi Panigoro said on Monday.
He did not identify the participants of the tender.
?We are busy now to inform the surrounding community about the extension of the Block A contract,? he said.
The government recently extended the existing contract on the block, that expires next year, for another 20 years. The block is 41.67 percent owned by Medco, which also acts as operator, in partnership with British firm Premier Plc (41.67) and Japanese firm Japex (16.67 percent).
Hilmi also said the Donggi-Senoro LNG consortium, which includes Medco, is scheduled to sign next month a heads of agreement (HoA) with three future buyers of LNG from the project, that is Kyushu Electric Power of Japan, Korean Gas Corporation (Kogas) of South Korea and Chubu Electric Power Co. Inc of Japan. (Giok)
