PT Medco EP Indonesia (MEPI) said it has been able to slow down the natural production decline of the Rimau block in Musi Banyuasin, South Sumatra

"The Rimau block?s production is definitely going down because it is a mature block. However, Medco has been able to slow down the natural production decline rate to 7 percent," Medco's Corporate Secretary Imron Ghazali told Petromindo.com.

He did not however provide the decline rate in the previous years as comparison.

He said Rimau produced 12,000 barrels of oil per day in 2014. "Currently, Rimau produces about 11,500 bopd," he said.

Medco has 95 percent stake in Rimau block with the remaining 5 percent held by South Sumatra state firm Perusahaan Daerah Pertambangan & Energy Sumsel.
