Medco spuds 1st Indonesia CBM well

IDX-listed energy firm MPT Medco Energi International is aiming to produce 50MMCFD of CBM from its South Sumatra concession in 2015, a company?s CBM subsidiary official said on Monday.
Medco Energi CBM Indonesia Operations Director Pudjo Suwarno told Petromindo.Com on Monday that the company has spudded a CBM well in Sekayu CBM area this month, with the aim of drilling two wells throughout the end of the year.
The well is the first well drilled by CBM contractor in Indonesia.
Pudjo said the Sekayu CBM partnership will drill 10 wells in 2010 and more than 200 wells until 2015.
He said earlier that Medco is expected to bring commercial CBM production from Sekayu block to come onstream in 2011.
Medco is teaming up with Indonesian firm PT Energi Pasir Hitam Indonesia (Ephindo) and Canadian firm McLaren Resources to develop the Sekayu CBM PSC. (godang)
