Medco starts drilling development well in Block A PSC

PT Medco E&P, a subsidiary of IDX-listed energy company PT Medco Energi Internasional Tbk, has recently started drilling of a development well at Block A PSC in Aceh Province.
Development Director of Medco E&P Eka Satria told Petromindo.com Thursday that the Medco?s rig DS-7 spudded JR-72 well on July 4, 2017 at 13:00 hrs.
?Current operation drilling 17.5" hole to 220 ft RKB,? he said.
Chief Operating Officer of Medco Ronald Gunawan said earlier that currently the Block A is under construction. Ronald said his company will be drilling 4-5 shallow wells and three HPHT (High Pressure and High Temperature) wells.
The block is on track to be on stream in the first quarter of 2018 as targeted. Its gas production is planned to be channeled to state owned oil and gas firm PT Pertamina. The block is 41.6 percent owned by Medco (operator) and 41.66 percent by KrisEnergy and 16.67 by Japex.
