Natural gas from Medco-operated Singa field in Lematang PSC onshore South Sumatra has begun flowing to West Java via a pipeline owned by IDX-listed state gas distribution firm PT Perusahaan Gas Negara (PGN) since April 16, 2010.
PGN?s Director Michael Baskoro told reporters on Wednesday that field is now producing below 10MMCFD and would gradually ramp up to contracted volume of 50MMCFD.
PGN is the gas offtaker of the Singa field for three years. State electricity firm PLN will be the offtaker from year four to year nine.
PGN initially planned to sell gas from Singa field to Chevron?s steamflood facility in Duri, Central Sumatra, but acute gas supply shortage in West Java has changed the initial plan. (bernard)
