Medco to drill Salina-1 well in Rimau block next month

PT Medco EP Indonesia (MEPI) plans to spud the Salina-1 well in the Rimau block in South Sumatra in the middle or end of November of this year.

Head of Survey and Drilling at upstream authority SKK Migas, Arief Fanshuri told Petromindo.com on Wednesday that the company is currently seeking for the necessary permit from the local administration, and is awaiting for the arrival of the Emsco rig from South Sumatra Extension.

"The plan is to drill the Salina-1 well in the third or fourth week of November to the depth of 400 feet,? Arief said.

MEPI Director of Development, Eka S. Djalin confirmed to Petromindo.com about the drilling program. ?We?ll use our own rig, Emsco,? he said.
