PT Medco E&P, a subsidiary of IDX-listed energy company PT Medco Energi Internasional Tbk, plans to drill seven development wells at Block A PSC in Aceh Province in July.

?This year we will drill seven wells in Block A,? Medco President Director Hilmi Panigoro told Petromindo.com on Tuesday.

Chief Operating Officer of Medco Ronald Gunawan said drilling will be started July 1 after the Islamic Idul Fitr festivity (or Lebaran).

?Currently the Block A is under construction. Later after Lebaran there will be drilling of 4-5 shallow wells and three HPHT (High Pressure and High Temperature) wells,? Ronald said.

Hilmi Panigoro said last week that construction progress of the overall project in block A has reached 48 percent, while progress of the central processing plant (CPP) has reached 68 percent. He said that the block is on track to be on stream in the first quarter of 2018 as targeted. Its gas production is planned to be channeled to state owned oil and gas firm PT Pertamina. The block is 41.6 percent owned by Medco (operator) and 41.66 percent by KrisEnergy and 16.67 by Japex.
