Friday, May 7 2010 - 02:07 PM WIB

Indonesia-listed energy firm PT Medco E&P will drill again the Singa-1 well in Lematang PSC onshore South Sumatra to ensure smooth gas supplies to state owned gas distribution firm PT Perusahaan Gas Negara.

The well now supplies PGN with 7-8 MMSCFD of natural gas via the South Sumatra-West Java pipeline and the planned drilling will ensure that the well will be able to supply at a normal rate of 50 MMSCFD in the future.

?We expect the drilling to be completed in October 2010,? Medco E&P president director Budi Basuki said.

He said that the firm is still waiting for drilling equipment with special specifications, including that it has a better quality compared with stainless steel equipment, because the gas there has a high H2S and C02 contents. (Bernard)
