Australian listed oil company CityView Corporation Limited said on Friday that PT Medco Energi International, the operator of Madura joint operating block, has completed the preliminary test on the Telaga Well DST (drill stem test) #1.

?The well flowed gas throughout the test although the flow rate decreased rapidly during testing. The perforated interval was subject to an acid wash, which immediately improved flow rates until the same rapid decrease in flow rate was encountered,? said CityView.

CityView said that Medco would perform a full analysis of the drilling, logging and test results to determine the benefits of performing an extensive test program using acid fracing and formation stimulation of the DST #1 test interval as well as other previously identified DST intervals yet to be tested.

?On completion of the analysis the Operator intends, based on the results of the analysis, to return to the Telaga Well with a work over rig and fracing equipment to perform an extensive testing program,? said CityView, adding that the extensive testing program on the Telaga well is depend on BPMIGAS?s approvals.

The Telaga-1 prospect is a wildcat exploration well. Medco had completed drilling to the depth of 10,650 feet on Telaga-1 well.

Earlier, an executive at Medco group told Petromindo.Com that test results from Telaga-1 exploration well in Madura block had indicated discouraging results. ?There are gas indications in the well, but it is likely that the volume was not economic,? said Budi Basuki, PT Exspan Nusantara?s operations director.

Madura block is located onshore central Madura Island, Sampang Regency, East Java. State oil and gas firm Pertamina has 35 percent interest in the block, while CityView, Medco and Falcon Oil Pte. Ltd holds 16.25 percent, 24.75 percent and 24 percent, respectively. (robert)
