Medco to test the Karasan-1 well

Australian listed oil firm CityView Corporation Limited said on Tuesday its joint venture partner PT. Medco Energi International had decided to test the Karasan-1 well in the Madura exploration block in East Java after its drilling program had reached a depth of 4,186 feet.
CityView said the testing and swabbing are currently in progress.
The firm added Medco had also spudded the Pidawan-1 well in East Kalimantan on Feb. 21, 2002, and that mud-logging equipment is being installed.
According to CityView, Medco planned to drill the Pidawan-1 well to 7,546 feet and anticipated the drilling will take approximately thirty days.
Both exploration blocks are currently operated by PT Medco Energi International Tbk, a Jakarta Stock Exchange listed oil and gas firm.
CityView has 16.25 percent working interest in Madura JOB and 15.625 percent in Pidawan JOB. (robert)
